Butterfly Fluff

Butterfly Fluff

This piece is one of my wife’s favorites, which is very surprising to me.  I drew this one quickly on the Fourth of July, just as page filler.  Let me explain.  I had given myself the task of doing a drawing a day for a year.  I didn’t complete all of the drawings that year, but I completed many of them.

Since it was a holiday, I had almost left my drawing stuff at home, but on a whim, I brought the Port-O-Studio along.  We were having a great time swimming, barbequing, and just having a great time when that nagging voice in my head said, “You must do your drawing of the day.”  I broke out my stuff and hurriedly splashed some water, flung some ink, and when I was done, Butterfly Fluff was born.

Over the years, I have drawn several pieces of butterflies and dandelions.  I rather like them for one simple reason: they give me joy.
