Shrooms Man

This piece is just a fun experiment.  No, I didn’t take any magic mushrooms before letting my artistic juices flow.  I drew in a more painterly way.  Instead of using all line work to get my vision onto the paper, I used washes of ink to give it a looser feel.

Creating pieces like this has given me the confidence to work more with watercolor. Although I am nowhere near an expert in watercolor, I am getting more comfortable using it to add a splash of color to my ink drawings.

So, here’s a lesson to all you budding artists out there: experiment!  You may ruin a piece of paper or two, but the results are pretty awesome.
