Stripes

I have been creating the same kind of images lately. Mostly ink drawings with a few ink washes to give them a bit of dimensionality. This drawing goes quite a way down a different rabbit hole. Well, maybe not all that far, but it’s a start.

I have wanted to do something with the photo I used as a reference for quite some time but never got around to it. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was hunting for something to draw and came across an image of a pack of zebras. Now, the thought of drawing all of the stripes on an entire herd of zebras made my head spin, so, I decided to draw only one. Since was feeling lazy, I didn’t even draw all of that!

I thought that a very graphic-looking drawing and letting the stripes tell the story. When I look at the completed drawing, I like the story the stripes tell. So, naturally, I named this piece Stripes.
